College Stars Take the Sand at SoCal Challenge

The NCAA Beach Volleyball Season is still a few months from getting underway, but fans based in the Los Angeles area can get a sneak peek at some of the nations best at this weekend’s SoCal Challenge. Reigning National Champions USC and their rivals UCLA will be joined by Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Hawaii, Cal State Long Beach, University of Arizona, CalPoly, and Grand Canyon at the Manhattan Beach Pier Nov. 13-14.

Audrey Nourse makes a defensive stop against UCLA during the 2021 season.

The event is free to spectators and will feature full varsity rosters for the upcoming 2022 season. There aren’t many better places to watch beach volleyball, so if you are in the area, head down and see the future stars of the sport.

All nine of the teams finished 2021 ranked in the top 20 with six in the top 10.

This is a sister event to the SoCal basketball challenge featuring some top men’s NCAA basketball teams in an early season tournament.
