WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Junior Jazmin Walle earned a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles, and the La Salle University women’s tennis team showed vast improvement across the board in its second match of the season at Monmouth. Despite the 6-1 loss, the Explorers had opportunities in all of their singles matches and narrowly dropped the No. 2 doubles match.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- The singles matches were all competitive, with Walle taking care of Gabriel in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
- Freshman Lauren Landstrom bounced back from a first-set loss to take the second, 6-2, but ultimately dropped the third to Ann Spurka.
- Leano was edged in the first set of her match against Nicole Gasser, 7-5, and senior Aleks Nikolic dropped a first-set tiebreak at No. 3 to Madison Mills, 7-6 (7-3).
- Monmouth took the second set at both No. 2 and No. 3, and took forfeit wins at No. 5 and No. 6.
