Here are the top boys and girls high school tennis players to watch this season:
Boys
Jonni Kneer, seventh grade, Tuscaloosa Academy: Despite his age, Kneer is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Alabama in his age group.
Braden Hannig, junior, Northridge: Hannig is ranked as the No. 2 player among all juniors in the state.
Thomas Harper, senior, Northridge: Harper finished 2020 named to the North-South All-Star tennis team.
Girls
Ava Thomason, freshman, ACA: The freshman managed to work her way to becoming one of the top varsity players.
Jackie Alcocer, junior, Northridge: Alcocer is one of the top junior girls tennis players in Alabama.
Megan Bonhaus, junior, Tuscaloosa Academy: Bonhaus has been the No. 1 player on TA’s team for three years.
