It’s the Head with the unique head.
When Head rolled out the first edition of the Gravity franchise a few years ago, the rounded teardrop shaped of the racquet face gave it a distinctive look. But it was done for more than mere aesthetics; the constant elliptical beam was widest in the shoulder area to raise the sweet spot to the upper portion of the hoop, the most common contact point for modern mechanics.
Additionally, the racquet was composed with Graphene 360+ technology—graphene is placed at strategic locations around the frame for power and stability, while spiralfibers in the hoop encourage a cleaner, friendlier feel at impact. It’s a mainstay in all Head frames, and it meshed particularly well with the Gravity racquets. Combined with a softer flex, they possessed a solid, plush response that appeal to players who appreciate a more classic and comfortable feel.
The performance was so good that Head decided to update the Gravity line without making any significant structural modifications. The only alteration for this latest version is the cosmetic. The two colors of the flip design—a different color on each side of the racquet—have been changed. Out are the coral and teal tones of the original and in come shades of purple and yellow. Opinions will vary, but most of our testers have deemed the new appearance to be an improvement.
