MT. HERMON — Host Southern Alamance swept singles competition and topped Asheboro 8-1 in Mid-Piedmont Conference boys’ tennis Wednesday night.
Jose Arellano (6-4, 7-6 [7-4]), Nathan Cheek (6-3, 6-0), Landon Crockford (6-0, 6-1), Clayton Humble (6-1, 6-2), Isaac Tumey (7-5, 4-6, 1-0 [10-6]) and Yisak Tumey (0-6, 6-3, 1-0 [10-7]) won singles matches for the Patriots (2-0, 2-0).
Humble / Cheek and Isaac Tumey / Crockford won doubles matches.
Tyler Smith / Wesley Redding defeated Arellano / Yisak Tumey in doubles to claim the only victory for Asheboro (0-2, 0-2).
