BOISE, Idaho – Boise State student-athletes combined to record an all-department grade-point average of 3.34 this past semester, the highest fall-semester GPA on record and the second-highest semester GPA in school history, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Friday.
Additionally, the Broncos’ cumulative department GPA, including all programs, improved to a school-record 3.38.
“I am beyond proud of another record-setting performance by our student-athletes in the classroom this past fall,” Dickey said. “Accomplishments like these are a testament to the work they are putting in to take advantage of every opportunity they have while they are here. These accolades are also a direct result of the teams behind the teams, and I am grateful for our coaching staffs, our academic advisors, our campus community and everyone else that is making a positive impact on the student-athlete experience at Boise State.”
Bronco student-athletes have combined to record a department GPA of at least 3.0 in 20-consecutive semesters. Women’s tennis led the way with a 3.91 GPA during the 2021 fall semester, one of four programs to establish team records. Also setting program bests were beach volleyball (3.78), women’s basketball (3.69) and football (3.15).
In all, 83 percent of Bronco student-athletes achieved at least a 3.0 GPA, either semester or cumulative, during the fall term, including 66 with 4.0s. The Broncos’ football team boasted a record 74 student-athletes at or above 3.0, including 14 with a 4.0.
