BLACKSBURG – The No. 36 Virginia Tech men’s tennis team fell to No. 45 Georgia Tech on Sunday afternoon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
The doubles competition between the Hokies and the Yellow Jackets (9-6, 3-4) was tightly contested. Tech claimed Court 1 with ease, as sophomore Jordan Chrysostom and freshman Ryan Fishback earned a 6-2 win. The doubles point came down to a tiebreaker on Court 3 which was eventually won by the Yellow Jackets.
Despite several tight matches across the board that included four tiebreaks, the Hokies could not get it rolling. The Yellow Jackets clinched the match in straight sets on Court 4, Court 5, and Court 1.
Virginia Tech will be back on the road Wednesday, March 24, to face the VCU Rams (8-0) in Richmond.
