Men’s Tennis Loses In MEAC Play On Sunday.

ORANGEBURG, S.C.  – The North Carolina A&T lost a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men’s tennis match Sunday afternoon, 6-1 to S.C. State.
The Aggies (0-7, 0-1 MEAC) lost the doubles point on Sunday by losing two of the three matches.

Their lone win in doubles came at No. 1 as junior Vasil Ivanov and freshman Esteban Lopez defeated the SCSU duo of Marcelo Rodriguez-Mojica and Elyes Marouani, 6-2. There was one win in singles competition for the Aggies as Ivanov claimed his second win of the season with a straight set, 6-3, 7-6 win over Aleksa Daskaovic.  

It was Ivanov’s 15th career win in singles and his 12th career win in doubles competition.

The other singles matches were straight set victories for the Bulldogs. Rodriguez-Mojica defeated Lopez, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. At No. 3 singles, Aggies graduate senior lost Marouani 6-1, 6-1. Aggies junior Nolan Martino lost to Omer Berk Gorgun at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2.

A&T’s Mike Ogundele took on S.C. State’s Diego Arzaluz at the No. 5 singles spot and was defeated 6-2, 6-1. The Bulldogs Erwan Momo defeated freshman Eadwyn Bacar, 6-2, 6-1.
