Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie is the man of the hour on the ATP Tour – and the biggest rankings riser in the Top-50. Norrie became the first British man to ever win Indian Wells on Sunday when he defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
For his efforts the 26-year-old will rise ten spots to a career-high ranking of 16, as he becomes the British No.1 and also inches closer to qualifying for the ATP Finals at Turin.
Norrie moves to No.10 in the race, just 120 points behind Hubert Hurkacz for ninth, which is actually the final qualification spot because of Rafael Nadal’s absence from the ATP Finals this year as he rests and recuperates his foot injury.
Four players – Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev – have already qualified for the eight-player field. Here are the current standings as of Monday October 18:
1. Djokovic, 8370
2. Medvedev, 6470
3. Tsitsipas, 5650
4. Zverev, 5095

5. Rublev, 4165
6. Berrettini, 4000
7. Ruud, 3015
8. Nadal, 2985 (will not play)
9. Hurkacz, 2955
10. Norrie, 2795
11. Sinner, 2595
12. Auger-Aliassime, 2330
Hurkacz Makes History for Poland
Hubert Hurkacz rises two spots in this week’s rankings to No.10, which means the 24-year-old has become the second man from Poland to ever reach the Top-10 and the first to join the elite group since Wojtek Fibak in 1977.
Hurkacz, this year’s Miami Masters champion and also a Wimbledon semifinalist, owns a 33-18 record on tour this year with three ATP titles.
Also rising was Norway’s Casper Ruud. The 22-year-old climbs one spot to a career-high ranking of No.9. He is the highest-ranked player to ever come from Norway.
Grigor Dimitrov, a semifinalist last weekend at Indian Wells, rises seven spots to No.21; Aslan Karatsev hits a career-high ranking at 22, while Nikoloz Basilashvili of Germany rises nine spots to No.27.
