Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence (ETSOE) founder and head coach Loyiso Matsha competed at the Dundee Tefo Radebe (DTR) Senior Open tournament.
The tournament was founded by Radebe, a qualified, accredited independent tennis coach and tournament director.
Matsha was the runner-up in the men’s singles section. He played against Pretoria player Alfred Thantsa and lost 6-4 and 6-2.

“As a coach, it is vital for me to partake in these tournaments because we get to teach each other as we learn from each other. As a coach, I get to incorporate what I learned into my sessions with my students,” Mantsha said.
Mantsha was awarded a medal for participating and he said he would like to engage in more tournaments.
“I am not match fit. Thantsa plays a league every weekend. This tournament is for all tennis players who need to understand the rules of tennis and tournaments. It is also for those who need to improve their tennis play or skills,” said Radebe.
