“This was a huge win for us,” said FSU head coach Mark Doren. “Hillsdale has beat us the last two years so to come into their place and pull out a win is great motivation leading up to the conference season.”

The match was tied up at 3-3 with Bulldog junior Agata Klak remaining on the court at four singles. The match last a little over three hours with Klak posting a 6-4 triumph in the third set to clinch the win.

Ferris State started strong as the Bulldogs won the doubles point by sweeping all three flights, including a decisive 6-1 decision from Isabela Paixao and Klak at the number one flight.

In singles play, FSU’s Morgan Waller won in straight-sets at the number one flight with Patricia Martin Gomez doing the same at six singles. The Bulldogs are next slated to take the court on Saturday, March 13, with yet another regional match against Lewis (Ill.) in Plainfield, Ill. The contest is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start and will mark FSU’s final non-league match prior to the start of GLIAC play at home against Wayne State on March 19.
