Concerns over Stefanos Tsitsipas as star takes a fall in training video
A video of Stefanos Tsitsipas shows the star going down in training and showing discomfort.
Stefanos Tsitsipas heads into the Miami Open this week off the back of a final in Acapulco. However, the number two seed has been shown laid out on the court, hurt after miscalculating a volley in practice, raising injury concerns.
In the video, Tsitsipas is practising volleys at the net when he decides to dive for one that is otherwise out of reach.
He then immediately lies on his back after hitting the floor, raising his knees to his chest before momentarily holding his right wrist and rolling onto his side.
A pair of coaches, including Tsitsipas’ father, stand over him to check if he is ok, as the Greek remains on the ground, holding his wrist again before the video ends.

There have been a slew of withdrawals from Miami, particularly in the men’s draw. Half of the ATP top-10 alone are absent. Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem and Matteo Berrettini all decided against playing the tournament.
