Casper Ruud is going to Turin!
The Norwegian locked up his spot at this year’s prestigious Nitto ATP Finals Turin by defeating Marcos Giron, 6-2, 6-1 on Thursday at the Paris Masters.
It has been a remarkable season for the 22-year-old. He has won five ATP titles and racked up 53 victories. He has also proven to be a force on hard courts. After entering 2021 with a 16-27 record on the surface he has gone 23-7 on hard courts.
Ruud is the seventh player to join the Nitto ATP Finals field, along with Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini.
The Final spot will come down to Hubert Hurkacz, Jannik Sinner and Cameron Norrie. Hurkacz is in the driver’s seat as he’s already into the quarterfinals at Paris, while Sinner and Norrie have been eliminated.
