The German coach announced the break on social media.

“Thank you for the last 18 months all the best for the future,” Geserer posted on Instagram along with photos of the pair.

Former UCLA all-American Brady moved to Germany to work with Geserer prior to the start of the 2020 season. The 26-year-old Brady strengthened her body, began imposing her aggressive baseline game and sharpened her shot selection working with Geserer.

Under Geserer’s guidance, Brady won her first WTA title in Lexington last, reached the US Open semifinal where she pushed eventual-champion Naomi Osaka to three sets then battled into the Australian Open final in February falling to Osaka. At the Australian Open, Brady credited her coach and physio for helping her become a more disciplined player.

“I think it comes from my coach, Michael, and my trainer, Daniel,” Brady said in Melbourne. “Just having the trust in them, knowing that the time that I spend with them I have my full trust in them, knowing that we’re just doing our best every day, just trying to make me as good a tennis player as possible.

“So I think just knowing that I’m making a sacrifice for a reason and it’s going to pay off, and I think it has.”

Since her maiden major final in Melbourne, Brady has posted a 3-4 record, including opening-round exits in Doha, Miami and Stuttgart before reaching the round of 16 in Madrid.
