Will it be a double Gloucester for Doran?

Chris Doran will go for back-to-back Grand Prix victories and Mollie Patterson will also be looking for her second title of the season at the upcoming Gloucester Grand Prix.

Doran (pictured above) sunk England No 3 Sam Walker in the final of the London Grand Prix last month and is the top seed this weekend at Gloucester.

His biggest rivals are Crawley GP Men’s Singles winner Sam Mabey, who will also be going for his second title of the season, and Wales’ Callum Evans.

England Commonwealth Games squad member Patterson won three titles, including the Women’s Singles, at the Preston GP back in October and is second seed this time around, behind Jiaqi Meng.

A total of 149 players have entered the tournament, which is at the Oxstalls Sports Park in Gloucester.

As ever, the Banded events take place on the Saturday, with the open events (men’s and women’s singles, under-21s, veterans and restricted) on the Sunday.
