The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has announced the opening of the first stage of bidding for the 2022 ITTF World Veterans Tour (WVT) – a series of events connecting millions of table tennis players across a professionally organized and managed format.
The 2022 ITTF WVT will include up to 10 events from April to December. Member Associations, Continental Associations and local organizers are invited to be a part of the Tour. In an ever-growing veteran players community and as the world continues to reconnect, the WVT is the perfect opportunity for host cities to restart hosting international sporting events with the support of the ITTF Group.
Hosts must start their bidding process with an expression of interest to the ITTF, which will then invite bidders to explain more about their proposals and submit a detailed bidding form. The ITTF will then shortlist the best bids and designate the successful host cities. Bidding process deadlines are as follows:
- 31 January 2022: Expression of Interest
- 14 February 2022: LOC and Host Interviews
- 16 February 2022: Selection

Over 1,000 players competed in WVT events in the 2019’s Tour, which started in Shenzhen (China) in August and concluded in Cardiff (Wales) in December. Other stops in 2019 included Townsville (Australia), Ft. Lauderdale (USA), and Doha (Qatar). The WVT also has a dedicated website, its own worldwide ranking system, enhanced marketing and social media programs, and much more!
