Indiana Gets First 2023 Verbal From Wisconsin DI State Champ Reese Tiltmann

NEW COMMIT: U.S. Open qualifier Reese Tiltmann of Brookfield, Wisconsin, has pledged her verbal commitment to Indiana University beginning in the fall of 2023.

Her older sister, Reilly Tiltmann, is currently a freshman at Virginia.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Indiana University!! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches and teammates for the unconditional support and helping me get to where I am today. I am incredibly blessed to have this opportunity. Go Hoosiers!”

Tiltmann, who does her club swimming with Elmbrook Swim Club, finished seventh in the 400m IM at the Speedo Summer West Championships after taking fourth in the 200m IM at Pleasant Prairie Sectionals. Last winter, she raced to sixth in the 400 IM at NCSAs before going on to final in four events at the TYR 18&U Cup – Des Moines.

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:48.17
  • 500 free – 4:52.08
  • 100 breast – 1:04.89
  • 200 breast – 2:15.59
  • 200 IM – 2:02.27
  • 400 IM – 4:15.13

Currently a junior at Brookfield East High School, Tiltmann is a six-time individual Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She won the 500 free and was the 200 free runner-up as a junior while taking second in the 500 free and third in the 200 IM as a sophomore.

Under head coach Ray Looze, the Hoosiers finished third overall in the team standings at the 2021 Big Ten Championships.
