Lithuanian breaststroker Aleksas Savickas has verbally committed to the University of Florida’s class of 2026.

Savikas swims for Panevėžio Žemyna-Sporto Gimnazija and on the Lithuanian National Team and specializes in breaststroke. He competed at European Junior Championships this summer in Rome, where he won the 200 breast (2:13.35) and was runner-up in the 100 breast (1:01.29). He also competed in the 50 breast, placing 15th in the semi-finals (28.88).
Best LCM times (converted to SCY):
- 50 breast – 28.63 (24.89)
- 100 breast – 1:01.29 (53.41)
- 200 breast – 2:13.35 (1:56.53)
Savikas’ best times would have scored in the B final of the 200 breast and the C final of the 100 breast at 2021 SEC Championships. He would have been the second-fastest 100 breaststroker and the fourth-fastest 200 breaststroker on the Gators’ roster last year. He will overlap with Kevin Vargas (54.93/1:54.22), Amro Al-Wir (53.54/1:55.01), and Mateusz Dubas (54.39/1:55.31).
