Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Audrey Holden, who hails from San Carlos, California, has announced her verbal commitment to the application process* at Cornell University for the 2022-23 school year.
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Cornell University!! Huge thanks to my parents, coaches, teammates, and friends for supporting me every step of the way. I am so honored to be part of such an amazing team! Go Big Red!!”
Holden is a senior at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View. She does her year-round swimming with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and specializes in breaststroke and freestyle. After the California high school swim season was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, Holden competed at the CIF-Central Coast Section Championships last May and placed 3rd in the 100 breast (1:03.17) and 6th in the 100 free (53.31). Her breaststroke time was a lifetime best and earned a qualifying standard for Winter Juniors.
This summer, she updated her LCM PBs in the 200 breast (2:36.73) at California-Nevada Sectionals, and in the 100 breast (1:12.04) at Arena Grand Challenge. Both times met the standard for Winter U.S. Open.
Holden will join the Cornell class of 2026 with Ella Martinez. Her breaststroke times would have scored in the B final of the 100 breast and the C final of the 200 breast at 2020 Ivy League Women’s Championships.
Top SCY Times:
- 200 breast – 2:20.51
- 100 breast – 1:03.17
- 50 breast – 30.84
- 100 free – 52.49
- 50 free – 24.75
*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to Recruits@swimswam.com.
