The Blue Devils suffered two more losses to Saint Francis U, who completed the four-game sweep over CCSU. Central finishes as the number three seed heading into the Northeast Conference Tournament.

KEY MOMENTS

The Red Flash struck early, after Lexi Hernandez drove in a run in the bottom of the first inning. The bats stayed hot for SFU, scoring another run in the second inning off a RBI single from Lauren Aubry.

After giving up a run in the first two innings, Ashley Antonazzo settled in. She did not allow an earned run the rest of the way and struck out four batters.

Saint Francis added two runs, both unearned, in the bottom of the fifth inning and took a 4-0 lead over the Blue Devils.

Central was hitless through the first six innings, until Carli Backlund led off the seventh with a double to left field. However, the Blue Devils could not drive her home and finished the game with just the one hit.

KEY MOMENTS

Junior Rian Eigenmann started off game two with a solo shot to center field, her fifth of the season. Eigenmann finished the game going 1-3 and stands at .349 for the season at the plate.

Saint Francis would not let Central hold the lead, quickly tying the game in the bottom half of the first. Lexi Hernandez drove in the first Red Flash run for the second game in a row.

Central surrendered the lead in the second inning, off a Tayven Rousseau solo home run to right center field.

Senior Kaitlin Paterson finally found her first hit of the day with a home run to tie the game in the fourth inning. The three-hitter finished 1-3 in game two.

Once again, SFU took the lead right back in the bottom of the inning. The Red Flash had the bases loaded when Madeline Barnes walked. Fortunately for the Blue Devils, only one run scored in the inning.

The Blue Devils recorded just one hit in the remaining three innings and were shut down by SFU pitching staff.
