Central Connecticut softball dropped its Saturday game to Norfolk State in an 8-3 loss. The second game of the doubleheader was cancelled due to decreasing light availability at the field.

KEY MOMENTS
- An error from the Spartan defense led to Jazmin Lasane getting on at the top of the first. Paige Stringer sent a double out to right field that put two runners in scoring position early for the Blue Devils. Bri Walker hit a sac-fly to drive in the first run, and Kim Howard drove in another with a single to left center.
- The CCSU defense had some struggles in the bottom of the first that allowed the Spartans to answer right back. After converting a double play, the Blue Devils let up two passed balls and dropped a foul ball, allowing the Spartans to score three unearned runs and retake the lead.
- Meg Gorman got the second inning started with a lead off triple to right center. The junior then scored on an error to tie things back up at 3.
- After the shaky first inning, the defense got through the next two innings with ease. Ashley Antonazzo struck out three batters and turned a double play to get through the second and third.
- CCSU had a three up, three down fourth inning that the Spartans pounced on to retake the lead. Norfolk State homered and doubled to tack on two runs and go up 5-3.
- The Spartans struck once more in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Loren Hudson hit a homer that brought in three more runs for Norfolk State.

- Lasane, Stringer, Gorman, Howard and Brooke Fedison each recorded a hit Saturday.
