Softball Falls in Sunday Finale

Central Connecticut State softball fell in the final game of its weekend series with Bryant, falling to the Bulldogs 5-3.

KEY MOMENTS

  • After a three-up, three-down first inning from both sides, the Bulldogs led off the bottom of the second with a triple. An error from the CCSU defense scored an unearned run, and three straight singles scored four more, quickly putting the Blue Devils in a 5-0 hole. 
  • Meg Gorman led off the top of the third inning with a double, and was advanced to third after a single from Alex Rodgers. Molly Bruyns hit a ground out that brought Gorman home, and an RBI single from Brooke Fedison made it a 5-2 ballgame heading into the bottom of the third. 
  • Bryant had a base runner on third in the third and fourth inning, but some good defense and pitching for CCSU out of the jam both times. 
  • Kristin rose drew a walk in the top of the fifth inning, and Fedison delivered with another RBI base hit, this time hammering a double down the left field line. 
  • Gorman hit a single in the seventh inning, but the Blue Devils were unable to rally late. 

NOTES

  • Fedison led CCSU with two RBIs on two hits.
