Central Connecticut State University softball dropped both of its Saturday games, falling to Louisiana Tech and Troy.
GAME 1 INFORMATION

KEY MOMENTS
- Freshman Jazmin Lasane got cooking early in game one with a single through the right side in the top of the first, but the Blue Devils could not make anything of it.
- It was a pitcher’s duel otherwise through the first two, as Ashley Antonazzo struck out two and the Blue Devil offense went three up, three down in the second and third inning.
- The Bulldogs pieced together a number of singles to get runs on the board in the bottom of the third, and a double to center field added on yet more, giving Louisiana Tech a 4-0 lead heading into the fourth inning.
- CCSU’s offense was was vying for a score in the top of the fourth, getting the bases loaded on a pair of walks and a single, but the Bulldogs’ defense was able to get out of the jam without a Blue Devil run scoring.
- The Bulldogs hit a pair of doubles and a single in the bottom of the fourth to tack on two more runs. They scored on a wild pitch and hit three singles in the bottom of the fifth to go up 8-0 and end the game.

- Kim Howard and Lasane each gathered a hit for the Blue Devils in game one.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Trojans struck out the side in the top of the first and went to work on offense, hitting everything but a home run to put three quick runs on the board.
- Bri Walker got the Blue Devil bats hot in the second inning with a double down the right field lane that put Howard into scoring position as well with no outs. The Blue Devils hit into a double play after this, but were still able to put one run on the board.
- Matison Piripavel hit a single in the third inning but was left stranded.
- Troy hit a double to put another run on the board in the bottom of the third inning, then proceeded to load up the bases. A throwing error from the Blue Devil defense sent two more Trojan runners home.
- The Trojans loaded the bases in the fourth inning as well and brought home four runners with back-to-back hits.
- Katie Master hit a single in the top of the fifth, but the Blue Devils were not able to generate any more offense.
