KEY MOMENTS

  • The Blue Devils drew back-to-back walks to get runners on first and second in the top of the second inning, but were unable to get them home. The Blue Devils got two outs down in the bottom of the second, but Sacred Heart was able to get one more run across before CCSU could retire the side.
  • The Pioneers hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third that made it a 6-0 ball game.
  • The Blue Devil bats came alive in the top of the fourth inning. Paige Stringer led off the inning with a hard hit double out to right center field. • After drawing two straight walks to start off the sixth inning, a single from Meg Gorman loaded up the bases for the Blue Devils. Fedison was able to draw a bases loaded walk to drive in one run, and a single from Dugas scored another run to make it a two run ballgame for CCSU.
  • The Pioneers loaded up the bases for themselves in the bottom of the sixth, and after CCSU got an out away, SHU hit two straight singles that brought home three runs.
  • Howard hit a solo shot in the top of the seventh inning that gave CCSU its fifth run of the day.
