Snooker was one of a number of sports featured as part of a Sports Open Day in Beijing last week.
Held in the British Embassy in Beijing, China, the day was organised in collaboration with Hisense, official sponsor of the 2020 European Football Championship as a platform to offer the ultimate experience in discovering the many aspects of the UK and British culture.
A flagship event and the first staged since the global pandemic, the Open Day showcased sports including football, sailing, skiing and of course, snooker. Over 400 football fans were invited to watch the action and engage in other activities.
The Beijing office of the World Snooker Tour has actively supported the Open Day, providing a small Xing Pai table and offering coaching to children on the basic skills of snooker to promote our sport.
It is estimated that over 140,000 viewers watched the streamed event via Weibo and Kuaishou platforms.
