Snooker fans visiting this year’s Betfred World Snooker Championship will have the opportunity to receive a coaching masterclass from a leading figure in the sport as part of a new initiative from the WPBSA Coaching Team!
The initiative aims to offer high-quality professional snooker coaching to all fans of snooker and the World Snooker Tour at the home of snooker.
Schedule
To run across the final five days of the tournament (28 April – 2 May) at the Sheffield Winter Garden, each session will run from 12pm – 4pm, beginning with a group presentation by the lead coach for the day, followed by one-on-one personalised snooker coaching for up to 30 minutes per person.
The sessions will be led by:
- Thursday 28th – Nigel Bond (1995 Crucible finalist)
- Friday 29th – Jamie Clarke (Current professional, played at this season’s World Championship)
- Saturday 30th – Steven Hallworth (former ranking event quarter-finalist)
- Sunday 1st – Cliff Thorburn (1980 world champion)
- Monday 2nd – Andrew Highfield (leading WPBSA Snooker Coach)
Sessions will be available on a first come, first served basis on the day. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to kindly provide a minimum donation of £5.00 towards official WST Charity Jessie May.
