Danny Owenson controlled the game and led by example as Musselburgh squeezed a valuable home win over Edinburgh Accies, and Callum Anderson, who scored the late interception try which nearly secured a dramatic win for Selkirk at Hawick, is stand-off.
Fraser Gosse showed plenty of power when scoring his try against Jed-Forest and looks a classy proposition at inside-centre for Glasgow Hawks, while outside-centre Jamie Shedden was the star turn for Marr, which is good going given some of the company he has in that backline.
A busy afternoon, which included Jed-Forest’s opening try and a disallowed try at the end which would have snatched a win at home to Hawks, sees Robbie Shirra Gibb selected on the left wing, Scott Bickerstaff’s hat-trick for Marr sees him named on the right wing, and Kirk Ford‘s nerveless late penalty to secure Hawick’s win over Selkirk topped off an assured all-round man-of-the-match performance at Mansfield Park so he is at full-back.
