Robust hooker Tom Petty is the latest new signing for Plymouth Albion as they continue to bolster their squad for the commencement of the 22/23 season.
Standing at six foot one and weighing in at 112kg, he certainly adds bulk to the hooker position. With Harry Wilkinson and Jamie Salter also in the squad, there is no doubt the number two shirt will have white hot competition to make the team.
The 23 year old former England Counties star signs from London Scottish and said ‘I am very pleased to be joining Plymouth Albion. I am excited by the club’s historically backed ambition and playing style. I look forward to working hard with the team, especially the rest of the pack, throughout preseason.’
Speaking of the signing, head coach Damian Welch added “Tom joins us with championship experience to compete for the shirt with Salts and Wilko. He’s a good physical hooker and I’m looking forward to watching the competition between the three in preseason. Tom is very driven to work hard and I’m sure he will want to get stuck in as soon as possible”
