Grassroot scrums are the best spectacle

WITH last week’s reintroduction of the game at grassroots it was really good to actually get back to and enjoy proper rugby with full contact and some real scrums.Naturally, one of the things I enjoy and find more interesting and entertaining about the grassroots game (than when watching the so called elite) is the approach to the scrum.At the elite level it now seems the scrum is more about garnering penalties than making a real effort to utilise it as a part of an open game.The honesty at grassroots is a breath of fresh air with players seemingly determined to keep…
