Exciting full-back Henry Arundell has penned a new long-term contract at London Irish.
Arundell has had a breakthrough season with the Exiles, scoring seven tries in 14 appearances.
Since making his debut against Saracens in the Premiership Rugby Cup, Arundell has lit up the English game with his mazy runs from full-back. He rose to international acclaim with his try in the Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat in Toulon.
His impressive performances have forced his way into Eddie Jones’ training squads ahead of the summer tour to Australia.
“It was a no brainer to extend my time at London Irish,” Arundell explained to the club website.
“The Club has given me so much already in my young career, and I want to repay their faith in me in the years to come.
“With the squad and coaches that we have at London Irish, the future is exciting and I’m very happy to get the chance to be a part of it.”
The 19-year-old joined the Irish Academy while studying at Harrow School, winning the Uner-18 Academy League title. This season, he represented the England Under-20s side, scoring four tries in the 2022 Six Nations.
Henry was crowned the Land Rover Discovery of the Season at the 2021/22 Premiership Rugby End of Season Awards.
“Henry has given a good account of himself during his first season with senior rugby,” said Declan Kidney, Director of Rugby.
“He has worked hard on the training pitch, and we have seen his efforts pay off.
“We are delighted that his development will continue with London Irish, and we are excited to help him on his journey.”
