The 2021 World Series of Poker Winter Circuit Online came to a close with the biggest win going to Asia. The newest hero was China’s Jifeng “Snakey” Huang who shipped the Main Event for a career high US$ 664,725. Along with the cash, Huang locked up the WSOPC championship ring and became the fourth player to win from the region.
That wraps up the series which ran from December 12 to January 15 at Natural8-GGNet. Over US$ 145.6 Million was paid out and 18 rings awarded. India’s Sriharsha “Upswinger” Doddapaneni was the only player to walk away with a N8 LiveX $10K Sponsorship Package. We’ve got the final results and other festival highlights for you down below.
China’s Jifeng “Snakey” Huang wins Main Event for US$ 664,725
The Main Event saw a massive turnout of 14,235 entries, and with buy-in at US$ 525 each, it absolutely crushed the $5M guarantee in exchange for a mightier US$ 7,117,500 prize pool. Out of the 2,081 Day 2 qualifiers, a substantial 1,500 earned a cut. Just past the 8th hour of play, USA’s David Miscikowski denied Australia’s Jason “Cracked_” Pritchard in 10th place with spiking the nine to dust to form the final table.
Miscikowski was already running hot at the series with a deep third place finish at Ring #5: SUPER MILLION$ High Roller NLH. He was also the only WSOP bracelet holder at the final table, and with his overwhelming big stack, he hoped to match it up with a ring.
The chase resumed five days later. Among the contenders were several players from Asia looking to bring home a fourth ring for the region. After three and a half hours of play, China’s Jifeng “Snakey” Huang did just that, eliminating the last three players to secure the title, the championship ring, and the US$ 664,725 first prize. This was Huang’s largest recorded score. Prior to the win, Huang shipped the WSOPC Series $1,050 Saturday Knockout HR Bounty side event for US$ 33,636 and placed 9th at Ring #11: $1,500 6-Handed Championship for US$ 17,238. Huang has over US$ 782K in GGNet winnings.
For runner up Miscikowski, it was another strong finish for a score of US$ 498,472, however, he was in danger of early elimination. At seven handed, Miscikowski dropped to the shortest stack with just 7 bb left then got back on track with two double ups. Like Miscikowksi, Uruguay’s Rodrigo “Sepico77” Presutti was also on his second final table having placed 6th at Ring #11: $1,500 6-Handed Championship. After Bulgaria’s Georgi Sandev busted to Huang in 4th place, Huang amassed a monster lead that neither Presutti nor Miscikowski could overcome. Natural8 player Vu Duc “Taicu” Tai settled for 8th place.
