Tom Edgar looking forward to Silverstone 500 after promising Oulton GT4 Debut – Motorsport.ie

Having made a promising series debut at the opening Oulton Park round of the British GT Championship, Toyota Gazoo UK driver Tom Edgar is hoping to build on this at the Silverstone 500 meeting this weekend. The prestigious BRDC Trophy is up for grabs in British GT’s blue-riband three-hour endurance race. There are no pitstop windows in three-hour races – instead, at least three driver changes must take place and no driver may exceed 100 minutes of drive time. Mandatory pitstops are also subject to minimum times measured from pit-in to pit-out. In GT3 it’s 135s while GT4 Pro-Am is 165s. All GT4 Silver Cup entries must serve an additional 14s during their mandatory driver changes and carry 25kg of ballast.

Tom Edgar, Toyota GR Supra GT4, ltonnwinidniwnindwiI’m really looking forward to Silverstone, I really enjoy that track and we’re making great progress with the car.  I have a new driver with me this round, Jordan Collard. He has fantastic experience in the GT4, which can only benefit the team. He came third last season in a McLaren, I think he’ll take to the Supra really well.
The first 2 races at Oulton were definitely a learning experience but we also managed to get the strong start to the season we were looking for, I’m currently sitting 5th in the championship. Hopefully I can continue to make progress and maybe I’ll be able push and move up the standings this weekend.
Thank you to everyone supporting me, including my sponsors – tune in to the livestream and hopefully I’ll see some of you at Silverstone.”
