When looking back to 2020 and what dramatically changed, motorsports wise, I can only think of eSports and its mega growth! That industry grew in two months what they would possibly grow in two years. The boost was incredible. Having the motorsport world grounded at home due to the pandemic truly helped going virtual and gain extra attention… eSports are staying for good. It is said that the sim racing market is projected to increase by almost 50% between 2020 and 2022 with a projected value of over $9bn. Incredible right?
This year, all world’s key racing series moved from real circuits to those virtually recreated.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual was one of those.
With sim racing rise of popularity going places, with it came an opportunity for grounded photographers as well. The art of ‘screenshooting’. Not as simple as most may think, but equally challenging. Stunning e-photography!
Amazing job Gary! 👌 Hats off to you seizing the opportunity.
