Mitsunori Takaboshi ‘mother of all accidents’, video, highlights, report

The racing world is breathing a sigh of relief after Japan’s Mitsunori Takaboshi came away unscathed following a horrifying crash in Fuji.

Takaboshi was in hot pursuit of race leader Yuhi Sekiguchi just over halfway of the 100 lap, 450km circuit of the Super GT race, when he was forced to swerve to avoid his rival Takeshi Suehiro.

But Takaboshi lost control and crashed his Nissan Z into the barriers, with pieces of debris flying from his car.

The Japanese driver’s car spun multiple times due to the impact before coming to a rest just next to the pit wall.

It was described as the “mothers of all accidents” in commentary.
