14 Year Old David Travers Wins Junior MINI Scholarship – Motorsport.ie

14 year old David Travers, from Kilkenny, has won the prize of a lifetime having come out tops of the Mondello Park Junior MINI Challenge Scholarship.
The new class is being introduced as part of the 2022 Digital Motorsports ICCR initiative and Mondello Park held a one day scholarship competition to win a fully sponsored season at the wheel of one of the 120bhp machines.
Of all the applicants, 22 were selected to attend Mondello Park last month, where they were assessed in three areas. They went through an interview process, a simulator assessment and drove a race prepared saloon car on track under the watchful eye of the Mondello Park Instructors.
David receives the use of a brand new race prepared Junior MINI Cooper for the year, along with all of his tyres and all Mondello Park entry and test fees.
Having collected his car and signed the contract with Mondello Park MD, Roddy Greene (above), he wasted no time in getting on track last weekend for some all-important testing.
