The Ottawa Senators have placed forward Derek Stepan on injured reserve.
Stepan left Tuesday’s game against Montreal in the first period with an upper-body injury and did not return.
“He’s going to see the doctor today and we’ll get the official word,” head coach D.J. Smith said. “It doesn’t look good at this point but we’ll wait until the doctor makes a diagnosis.”
The 30-year-old has a goal and five assists in 20 games this season.
Additionally, the Senators recalled defenceman Erik Brannstrom and forward Matthew Peca from the team’s taxi squad. The Sens also recalled forward Logan Brown from the Belleville Senators and re-assigned him to the taxi squad.
