America’s pastime will be alive and well at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday when the Detroit Red Wings host the Ottawa Senators for Tigers Night. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. with coverage on Bally Sports Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network.
The first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive an exclusive co-branded Red Wings/Tigers baseball hat, courtesy of MotorCity Casino Hotel. And all fans can enjoy a variety of baseball-themed activities on the Via concourse, including inflatable pitching and hitting games, Tigers ticket giveaways, pre-game photo opportunities with PAWS, and a chance to visit a Tigers memorabilia and heritage display outside PORTAL 8.
Specialty concession items with baseball flavor will be available for purchase, including hot dog/Cracker Jack meal combos and Tigers-colored slushies at select kiosks.
And while baseball will be the theme on the concourse, Red Wings players remained focused on playing a competitive brand of hockey against the visiting Senators.
“You see times of the year when we’re a successful group, that’s what we’re doing,” Wings forward Sam Gagner said. “When you have games and practices where everyone is competing and trying to do their best to win, it gives that much more life and something we want to bring into games for sure.”

The Red Wings (28-34-10) enter Tuesday with at least one point in three straight games and are coming off a 5-4 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
The Senators (26-40-6) have dropped three consecutive games and are two days removed from a 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Brady Tkachuk leads Ottawa with 30 assists and 56 points this season while Oxford, Mich., native Josh Norris has five goals in his last five games. Netminder Anton Forsberg has a 17-16-3 record and a 2.80 goals-against average.
Tuesday’s game marks the third and final matchup of the season between the Wings and Senators. Ottawa won the previous two games, both by a 5-2 score, as part of a home-and-home series on April 1 and April 3.
