  • Vancouver Canucks claim comeback win over Montreal Canadiens
  • Edmonton Oilers win again against Ottawa Senators
  • St Louis Blues suffer shock overtime defeat against San Jose Sharks

The action in the NHL has continued this past week with a number of huge games in all the different Divisions. However, you will be able to stay up to date with everything that has happened in the last 24 hours at Vegasodds.com.

Canucks Fight Back To Beat Canadiens

There was an unlikely hero for the Vancouver Canucks on Monday evening, as Adam Gaudette scored inside the last minute of regulation time to force overtime against the Montreal Canadiens. The goal stunned the visiting Canadiens, and they were helpless to avoid defeat in the end as the Canucks won the shootout to claim yet another memorable turnaround win in the NHL. It has been an excellent display of their character over recent weeks, as they have picked up wins against the Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It had been a slow start to the season for the Canucks, as they had lost all 14 games in which they had trailed before their last two. Things are certainly looking up the franchise, as they have now won their last three in the North Division, which is the best record in the Division. Meanwhile, the defeat for the Canadiens leaves them in fourth place.

Oilers Claim Win Against Senators

The Edmonton Oilers won for the second game in a row on Monday evening as they picked up a victory against the Ottawa Senators. No side has lost more games in the North Division so far this season than the Senators, while they also remain the only team yet to win ten games in the North Division. The Oilers and Senators were well matched after the opening period of play, as they ended the opening third tied at 1-1. However, the Oilers were able to make their added quality count in the second period, as they scored twice, while the Senators could only register one goal.

They were efficiently able to see out the game to get the win. Connor McDavid ended with two assists for the Oilers, while Kailer Yamamoto, Leon Draisaitl, and Alex Chiasson scored the goals. The two goals for the Senators were scored by Evgenii Dadonov and Tim Stutzle. Edmonton’s victory sees them remain in second place in the North Division, but they have now won seven of their last ten.

Blues Suffer Overtime Defeat

The St Louis Blues were beaten for the second consecutive time on Monday night, as they went down to the San Jose Sharks in overtime. The defeat means that they have now won just half of their last ten games, while the Sharks won for the fourth time in ten outings. St Louis took the lead in the game in the opening period and were still ahead after both sides scored a goal apiece in the second period. However, the game-changing moment came in the final period of regulation time as the Sharks found the net to take the game into overtime.

They were then able to take their chances in the additional time and condemned the former Stanley Cup winners to another defeat. Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Evander Kane, and Logan Couture scored in the win for the Sharks. The two goals for the Blues were scored by Niko Mikkola and Brayden Schenn.
