The Penguins continue along their four-game road trip as they head to New York to take on the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. Since Feb. 14, goaltender Tristan Jarry is tied for the NHL lead in wins (4) and has the seventh-best save percentage (.928) among all goaltenders with at least three starts during that time frame.
Kasperi Kapanen is one point shy of becoming the 23rd member of his 2014 draft class to record 100 points. Kapanen was selected by Pittsburgh 22nd overall in the 2014 NHL Draft.
TURBO TIME
Brandon Tanev sparked a third-period rally on Thursday night in Washington, as he recorded his fifth goal of the season, and first shorthanded. Since joining Pittsburgh last season, Tanev is the only Penguin to record multiple shorthanded goals.
Tanev has had success throughout his career against the Islanders, recording seven points (3G-4A) in 11 games.
