Canadiens GM Bergevin was ‘Not Aware’ of Blackhawks’ Sexual Assault Allegation

Amidst an ongoing investigation following sexual assault allegations involving the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin says he was “not aware” of sexual assault allegations made during the 2010 playoffs by a former player in the organization against a then-current assistant coach.

Bergevin served as the team’s director of pro personnel with the club. The unidentified Blackhawks player filed a lawsuit against the team and assistant coach Bradley Aldrich. Aldrich was convicted in Michigan back in 2013 of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a student. Aldrich is currently on the state’s registry of sex offenders.
