Three different mock drafts show how differently the 2021 NFL Draft could play out for the Cowboys

Considering that they have 10 selections, things could go a number of different directions for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2021 NFL Draft. We have spent a great amount of time talking about the vastly different scenarios that could befall this team based just on their pick in the first round. Obviously the Cowboys could decide to just use all 10 of the picks or they can dance around and trade a little bit, likely to move up for a player that they really like.

What could each of these different scenarios look like, though? Our Talkin’ The Draft crew did a livestream on Tuesday night over on the Blogging The Boys YouTube Channel and all three of our analysts (Connor Livesay, Dalton Miller, and Cole Patterson) each went in a different direction when it came to assembling their overall draft haul. Dalton Miller wound up taking Florida’s Kyle Pitts (yes, at number 10 overall) while Cole Patterson actually traded back to number 13 and took Northwestern’s Greg Newsome II. Connor Livesay took Jaycee Horn at number 10 so as you can imagine the first pick set each person down a particularly different path.

At the end of the livestream we polled viewers for who yielded the best results and Cole Patterson wound up the winner. It should be noted that they all used simulators from across the internet to put together their group, but obviously not all of these players will actually be available where they were taken during the real draft. That’s just how it goes.

Dalton Miller’s group is perhaps the most interesting one in the sense that it is the only one that involved Kyle Pitts at number 10 overall. While these results will not be fully mimicked in two weeks, it is helpful to see the kind of group that the Cowboys could end up with if they do wind up in a situation where Pitts is available at number 10.

Patterson walked away with five players in the top 100 and that is hard to be upset about (asterisks denote players that they traded up to take). The NFL draft is a strange animal and impossible to predict, but if it turned out anything like one of these three results for the Dallas Cowboys, which one would you like the most?
