Teams with byes for Week 8: Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens

UPCOMING GAMES

Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)

Point spread: Falcons -3 (Falcons favored to win by more than 3 points, otherwise Panthers cover)
Moneyline: Falcons -162 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $16.15 total); Panthers +135 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $23.50 total)
Total scoring over/under: 47 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd: “I like Atlanta. The number is right. It’s a clear sharp play on the Falcons here.

“Carolina’s defense didn’t quite play with the urgency they needed last weekend. It’s because they are so discouraged by the offense. Look out for not only Kyle Pitts, but remember, Arthur Smith took over the offense. QB Matt Ryan is a guy who takes about a half year to embrace a new offense, and this is Week 8. The Falcons have some real weapons. Calvin Ridley is terrific, and Pitts, obviously.

“This Atlanta team is one of those teams we can look at post-Thanksgiving and go, that’s a tough out. I like the Falcons strongly here. One of my favorite top three bets of the week.”

PICK: Falcons (-3 at FOX Bet) to win by more than 3 points

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point spread: Bills -14 (Bills favored to win by more than 14 points, otherwise Dolphins cover)
Moneyline: Bills -900 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $11.11 total); Dolphins +600 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Total scoring over/under: 48.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports Betting Analyst Geoff Schwartz: “The Bills are off a bye after a heartbreaking road loss to the Titans. Buffalo is the most reliable team in the AFC and ranks first in overall team efficiency. Look for the Bills to come out with some fire this weekend.

“On the flip side, the Dolphins are a wreck, with rumors speculating they are moving off their young quarterback. But beyond that news, Miami is just plain bad statistically. The Fins rank 28th in overall DVOA, 26th on offense and 25th on defense.

“The Dolphins also have the worst offensive line in football, and their season feels like it’s over already. The Fins blew the final minutes of the Falcons game last weekend to put the nail in their season’s coffin.

“When it comes to gambling, Miami has only covered one of its last six games (last weekend). The Dolphins just aren’t playing good football, so look for the Bills to get back on track.”

PICK: Bills (-14 at FOX Bet) to win by more than 14 points

San Francisco 49ers @ Chicago Bears (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)

Point spread: 49ers -4 (49ers favored to win by more than 4 points, otherwise Bears cover)
Moneyline: 49ers -200 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $15 total); Bears +170 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $27 total)
Total scoring over/under: 39.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd: “I would take the Bears with the hook at 3.5. I think teams that get humiliated in the NFL come back strong the next week. The Giants got humiliated against the Rams and played very well against the Panthers. The Bears were humiliated by Tampa, and now, they come home and will play with some pride.

“I really think San Francisco has one of the weaker secondaries. At times, they look disorganized. I think they have some concerns at quarterback. They are really conservatively coached. Jimmy Garoppolo is very limited on what they allow him to do, so I would take the Bears and the points.

“This is one of the better bets on the board.”

PICK: Bears (+4 at FOX Bet) to lose by fewer than 4 points (or win outright)

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point spread: Browns -3.5 (Browns favored to win by more than 3.5 points, otherwise Steelers cover)
Moneyline: Browns -188 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $15.33 total); Steelers +160 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $26 total)
Total scoring over/under: 42 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports Betting Analyst Geoff Schwartz: “Quarterback Baker Mayfield is rushing back from a shoulder injury. I anticipate the Steelers’ defense will make him regret that decision, as Pittsburgh has the fourth-best pass-rushing unit in the NFL. This Pittsburgh defense won’t fear an injured Mayfield, and will just need to stop the Browns run game to stop this offense.

“On the other side, the Browns’ defense is middle of the pack. Cleveland’s defensive line could impact the game, but injuries at linebacker hurt will limit that side of the ball.

“Pittsburgh’s offense has played better of late and comes into this game off a bye. They are a veteran group, and I have to imagine they used this time off to self-scout. For instance, what plays are working and what needs to be thrown out are usually discussed during off weeks.

“I expect we get the best offensive performance of the season from this Steelers squad. I’ll take Pittsburgh with the hook.”

PICK: Pittsburgh (+3.5 at FOX Bet) to lose by fewer than 3.5 points (or win outright)

Philadelphia Eagles @ Detroit Lions (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)

Point spread: Eagles -3.5 (Eagles favored to win by more than 3.5 points, otherwise Lions cover)
Moneyline: Eagles -188 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $15.33 total); Lions +160 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $26 total)
Total scoring over/under: 48.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd: “Detroit’s the obvious play.

“The onside kick by Philadelphia last weekend was so bizarre. It was one of the strangest coaching moves I’ve seen. That move reeked of desperation. On the other hand, Dan Campbell took some changes, but they made perfect sense. I thought Dan really had a good Sunday.

“I like the coach and I think there is a quarterback edge, so I like Detroit. I think the Lions might win this game outright and get their first win of the season.”

PICK: Lions (+3.5 at FOX Bet) to lose by fewer than 3.5 points (or win outright)
PICK: Lions (+160 at FOX Bet) to win outright

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point spread: Colts -1 (Colts favored to win by more than 1 point, otherwise Titans cover)
Moneyline: Colts -118 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $18.50 total); Titans +100 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $20 total)
Total scoring over/under: 50.5 points scored by both teams combined

Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point spread: Bengals -11 (Bengals favored to win by more than 11 points, otherwise Jets cover)
Moneyline: Bengals -500 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $12 total); Jets +380 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $48 total)
Total scoring over/under: 43 points scored by both teams combined

Los Angeles Rams @ Houston Texans (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)

Point spread: Rams -15.5 (Rams favored to win by more than 15.5 points, otherwise Texans cover)
Moneyline: Rams -1000 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $11 total); Texans +650 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $75 total)
Total scoring over/under: 46.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd: “When you look at the Rams, you see how important those division games are. This is one of those where you fly in, you get a win and you get out kind of games. You can hide some playbook in this one.

“I actually think Houston is one of the better bets on the board. Tyrod Taylor doesn’t turn the ball over, and he has just enough wiggle to keep the defense honest.

“I do think you can move the ball against the Rams. Death by a thousand cuts, but go six yards, eight yards down the field at a time. The way to beat a great defense is usually patience. Andy Dalton had a little bit of success in Week 1 if you just take little bits and pieces from them, for example.

“I would take Tyrod Taylor at home +14.”

PICK: Texans (+14.5 at FOX Bet) to lose by fewer than 14.5 points (or win outright)

New England Patriots @ Los Angeles Chargers (4:05 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point spread: Chargers -4 (Chargers favored to win by more than 4 points, otherwise Patriots cover)
Moneyline: Chargers -213 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $14.71 total); Patriots +175 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $27.50 total)
Total scoring over/under: 49.5 points scored by both teams combined

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Seattle Seahawks (4:05 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)

Point spread: Seahawks -3.5 (Seahawks favored to win by more than 3.5 points, otherwise Jaguars cover)
Moneyline: Seahawks -188 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $15.33 total); Jaguars +160 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $26 total)
Total scoring over/under: 44 points scored by both teams combined

Washington Football Team @ Denver Broncos (4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)

Point spread: Broncos -3.5 (Broncos favored to win by more than 3.5 points, otherwise Washington covers)
Moneyline: Broncos -175 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $$15.71 total); Washington +150 underdog to win (bet $10 to win $25 total)
Total scoring over/under: 45 points scored by both teams combined

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)

Point spread: Buccaneers -4.5 (Buccaneers favored to win by more than 4.5 points, otherwise Saints cover)
Moneyline: Buccaneers -213 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $14.71 total); Saints +175 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $27.50 total)
Total scoring over/under: 49.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd: “I would take Tampa Bay, with the Saints on a short week, then going all the way across the country. You also have a quarterback in Jameis Winston who runs hot and cold depending on the pressure. I think Tampa Bay is getting a little better pressure on the QB the past several weeks. But more than anything, this just feels like a significant experience in QB advantage in Tom Brady.

“I also don’t think the Saints are a team that can punish you if you do bring added pressure. They don’t beat you over the top. So I envision Todd Bowles having a very aggressive defensive plan cooked up.

“I would also bet the over. I think it’s going to be high-scoring. Tampa Bay will take a lead, then Sean Payton will cook some stuff up to try to score some points. He’ll come in with a creative game plan.”

PICK: Buccaneers (-4 at FOX Bet) to win by more than 4 points
PICK: OVER 49.5 points scored by both teams combined

Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings (8:20 p.m. ET Sunday, NBC)

Point spread: Vikings -3 (Vikings favored to win by more than 3 points, otherwise Cowboys cover)
Moneyline: Vikings -154 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $16.50 total); Cowboys +135 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $23.50 total)
Total scoring over/under: 52.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports Betting Analyst Sam Panayotovich: “The Cowboys (6-0 ATS) are eventually going to slip up against the spread.

“This betting line is interesting because bookmakers aren’t usually in the business of giving away money. Why would they open Dallas at PK or -1 when they know it will get written up to -2.5, as it did? Hmmm.

“Naturally, I’m looking for reasons to bet on Minnesota in this spot. The Vikings’ offense has been humming with four 400-yard performances this season, including a 571-yard outburst last Sunday at Carolina

“They certainly have the personnel to test the Dallas defense and pull the small upset. Give me the Vikings.”

PICK: Minnesota (+1.5 at FOX Bet) to lose by fewer than 1.5 points (or win outright)*

*Pick made before books moved the line drastically on speculation Dak Prescott might not play

New York Giants @ Kansas City Chiefs (8:15 p.m. ET Monday, ESPN)

Point spread: Chiefs -9 (Chiefs favored to win by more than 9 points, otherwise Giants cover)
Moneyline: Chiefs -450 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $12.22 total); Packers +350 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Total scoring over/under: 52.5 points scored by both teams combined

Pick via FOX Sports Betting Analyst Sam Panayotovich: “It’s been a rough season for Kansas City backers at the betting window. The Chiefs (2-5 ATS) have been dreadful against the spread, and many people I speak with are spooked by the thought of putting their cold-hard cash on Kansas City again.

“Naturally, that thought makes me want to strike on the Chiefs.

“Motivation will be high for Kansas City to come out and destroy a team. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense are long overdue for an early 14-0 lead and a 38-17 cruiser against an inferior squad.

“Kansas City has yet to face a sacrificial lamb at Arrowhead this season – 0-3 ATS at home aga

st Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Buffalo – and if it can’t correct their issues and stomp on the lowly Giants, things are even worse than I thought.”

PICK: Kansas City (-9 at FOX Bet) to win by more than 9 points

COMPLETED GAMES

Green Bay Packers 24, Arizona Cardinals 21

Point spread: Packers (+6) cover by winning outright
Moneyline: Packers win as +230 underdogs (bet $10 to win $33 total); Cardinals were -275 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $13.64 total)
Total scoring over/under: UNDER 50.5 points scored by both teams combined (45)
