NFL Free Agency 2021: Live updates, latest rumors and signings across the league

The second day of NFL’s legal tampering period was just as hectic as the first one, leading up to a crazy first day of the new league year — which begins at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday. The lowered salary cap apparently hasn’t played a factor in some teams trying to improve their rosters, specifically the New England Patriots. New England signed Hunter Henry to pair with Jonnu Smith at tight end, continuing a free agent spending spree that the Patriots are hoping puts them back in the front of the NFC East.

The Chicago Bears settled for Andy Dalton as their quarterback — signing him to a one-year, $10 million deal — and it looks like they’re no longer in the running for Russell Wilson. Tyrod Taylor is also off the board, agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with the Houston Texans worth up to $12.5 million. Taylor is certainly a contingency plan in case the Texans actually do deal Deshaun Watson. Jacoby Brissett is also off the board, signing a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins to back up Tua Tagovialoa.

All told, this isn’t even a fraction of that action from Tuesday, and with Wednesday set to be another packed day of moves in the NFL, you’ll want to bring yourself up to speed in the live blog below; and then glue yourself to it going forward. There are still lots of dynamic players looking to agree to new deals, and CBS Sports has got you covered with all the latest.
