CLEVELAND, Ohio — How quickly things can change in the NFL. The Browns ended the 2019 season in disarray, appearing rudderless as the Haslams parted ways with the second one-and-done coach during their relatively brief tenure as owners and, a few days later, parted ways with GM John Dorsey.
Kevin Stefanski, who lost out on the job prior to 2019, was hired in 2020 and, all of a sudden, in concert with Paul DePodesta and Andrew Berry, stabilized the team and guided it through a pandemic season, leading the Browns to their first playoff appearance since 2002 and their first playoff victory since 1994.
When you start to list off the best young head coaches in the league, Stefanski is not just on the list, but high up it. His combination of offensive accumen and effective culture building has brought hope to a hopeless franchise, might have changed the course of a young quarterback’s career and has fans and players thinking big things in 2021.
