The NFL is moving forward with a new 17-game schedule in 2021. The teams will remove one preseason game from their schedule and add an extra regular-season game. The Arizona Cardinals will play the Browns in Cleveland. This means a return matchup of Kyler Murray vs Baker Mayfield.
The two quarterbacks were selected No. 1 overall in back-to-back NFL drafts. For the first time, the two passers faced off in 2019 during Kyler Murray’s rookie season. Arizona got the better of Cleveland 38-24 during a December matchup.
Mayfield threw for 247 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the loss. He was bested by Murray who threw for 219 yards, with one touchdown, and one interception. He added another 56 yards on the ground. Can Mayfield find a way to return the favor to his former backup and former head coach in 2021?
