Star center Joel Embiid returned to action on Saturday in Philadelphia’s 122-113 win over Minnesota. The All-Star big man candidate notched 24 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks in his first action since March 12, when he suffered a bone bruise in his left knee. The Sixers went 7-3 in his absence.
Tobias Harris served as the team’s leading scorer while their All-Star center was sidelined, averaging 21.6 points on 52.4% shooting from the field, 42.3% from deep and 94.3% from the charity stripe. He logged 6.9 boards and 4.5 assists during the stretch.
A strong candidate for the Kia MVP award before his injury, Embiid will look to return to elite form as the race to the postseason begins.
Philadelphia is now tied with the Brooklyn Nets for first place in the Eastern Conference.
