We’ve got six games on the slate for Tuesday night and there are a few big-time matchups. This could mean tight basketball, which isn’t something we’re used to seeing in the NBA. This may make your picks and fades pretty important with condensed scoring, though ownership will dictate a lot of this if only a few teams are popular.
In NBA DFS, there will always be some flashy names that may tempt you to pay up — even in an unfavorable matchup. Name value sometimes comes with reliability, but the trick to cashing in on your NBA lineups is to maximize the boom while operating under the salary cap. Sometimes, this means fading the chalk plays and spending elsewhere.
Here, we’ll break down three top NBA DFS fades for the game slate on Tuesday, March 2nd.
It wasn’t too long ago that Murray was in the $7K range and that’s where we’re used to seeing him at. Now, his price has been as high as $8.9K and it’s down a bit with the back-to-back against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. Murray has a high ceiling but should see a lot of Jrue Holiday on defense. With the inflated price and the tough matchup, plus no rest, it’s hard to trust Murray outside of tournaments. He had a few 60+ DKFP games but that was against the Cavaliers and Wizards, not a team like the Bucks.
On paper, Booker has had a great season for an improved Suns squad. In DFS, we really haven’t seen the same player. He’s coming off a 43-point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but the Los Angeles Lakers are another animal. Booker should struggle against Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and we could even see LeBron James body him a bit. Before the outburst last game, Booker had failed to score over 40 DKFP in five of the past six games. The O/U for Lakers-Suns is also the lowest on the slate at 213.5.
The Spurs have had LMA back in the lineup for three games and he hasn’t started or played more than 23 minutes. At some point, we may see Aldridge back in the starting five but until then, he’s kind of unplayable. Last night against the Brooklyn Nets, LMA only played 15 minutes in a game that went to OT. The quick turnaround on the back-to-back against a tough New York Knicks frontcourt doesn’t bode well for Aldridge even if he does play around 20-25 minutes.
