There are seven games on tap to close out the week Friday night. We’ve got a few good spots for some teams with high totals facing defense that are pretty underwhelming. There also may be a few surprising teams in this article. I don’t know, do you???
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the NBA game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can read more about the concept of stacking here, but the main goal is to take advantage of this plus-matchup and use the salary cap to your advantage.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the NBA slate on Friday, March 12th.
Jarrett Allen ($8,600)
Collin Sexton ($8,100)
Darius Garland ($6,600)
Isaac Okoro ($4,800)
The Pelicans are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night. NOLA has been one of the worst defensive teams this season and I think this is a good spot to target Cleveland. The only issue I have is Larry Nance and Kevin Love could both be back in the lineup. Chances are this won’t impact some of the plays we have above. Allen has been a double-double machine with nine straight. His price is high but his ownership should be low. Sexton and Garland give us good ceiling plays at guard. Okoro is an OK value and should still play 30+ minutes despite the Cavs being a bit healthier.
Joel Embiid ($10,700)
Bradley Beal ($9,700) Q
Tobias Harris ($8,300)
Seth Curry ($5,600)
Matisse Thybulle ($3,100)
This stack will be altered depending on the injury report. If Embiid is back (which he should, he’s probable), then we can roll him out against a thin frontcourt. Beal is questionable with a knee injury. If Beal is out, we can easily pivot to Russell Westbrook ($10,200). Harris, Curry and Thybulle round out the stack if Ben Simmons remains sidelined. If Simmons is back, I still think Curry is an OK play. This game should have a high total, so taking bench guys on both sides if the Sixers go up big makes sense.
Nikola Jokic ($10,900)
Jamal Murray ($8,400)
Ja Morant ($8,100)
Will Barton ($5,400)
This game should be somewhat competitive and has one of the higher over/under totals on the slate. The Nuggets give us a nice balance of elite plays and mid-range options. I like running it back with Morant and even Jonas Valanciunas ($7,700). It’s a short slate so stacking may be the best GPP strategy. Michael Porter Jr. ($7,400) is somewhat expensive and I’d rather lean Murray over MPJ. If you want to differentiate things, going with Jonas and MPJ with Jokic and Morant gives you most of the production from both teams.
