NBA DFS: LaMelo Ball and top FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for Feb. 11, 2022

The James Harden era is set to begin soon in Philadelphia after a blockbuster trade that sent him to the 76ers and Ben Simmons off to Brooklyn. Philly also sent Seth Curry to the Nets as part of the deal, meaning some extra points in the 76ers offense will be up for grabs tonight at home against Oklahoma City. Tobias Harris could be a name to keep in mind when building your NBA DFS lineups on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, especially after his 30-point performance in his last start on Tuesday against Phoenix.

Not only will Harden be inactive tonight, but starting point guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) is listed as questionable for the game. Joel Embiid will certainly be the focal point of the Philadelphia offense on Friday, but Harris offers tremendous upside as the second option in Friday’s NBA DFS player pool. Before you make your NBA DFS picks, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

On Thursday, McClure included Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Doncic scored a season-high 51 points to go with nine rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block to return 75.25 points on DraftKings and 69.8 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Friday, February 11, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, February 11

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Friday is Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball, who is listed at $9,000 on DraftKings and $8,400 on FanDuel. In two of Ball’s last five starts, he has gone over 30 points, and he has also had two games in which he’s dished out nine assists during that run. In his last start against Chicago on Wednesday, he scored 33 points with nine rebounds and five assists.

The Hornets are back in action tonight against Detroit on Friday, which should be another favorable matchup for Ball, even though he had a somewhat pedestrian performance against it in their previous meeting this season. In that game, he hit just three of the nine three-point shots he took, but over his last five starts, he has shot 40 percent from downtown. Over Detroit’s last three games, it has allowed opponents to hit 49 percent of their threes, which is the highest rate in the league over that sample.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes stacking Ball with Kelly Oubre Jr. ($5,900 on DraftKings and $6,100 on FanDuel). After scoring a season-high 39 points against Indiana on January 26, he missed the following two games with an ankle sprain. Since his return, he has averaged 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds with 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks over five appearances.

Friday sets up as a good opportunity for Oubre to get back on track with his shooting from beyond the arc. In those five games since coming back, he’s hit less than 20 percent of his threes, but has averaged 9.2 attempts. Gordon Hayward (ankle) missed the Hornets’ last game, and is out again on Friday, which figures to keep Oubre in the starting lineup for a second consecutive matchup. In 11 starts this season, Oubre has averaged 17.6 points and 5.1 rebounds.
