NBA Announces Rescheduled Bulls at Raptors Game Set for April 8 – NBC Chicago

Bulls to face Raptors on April 8 in rescheduling originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

When the Bulls flew to Tampa, Fla., for a Feb. 28 game at the Raptors that never got played, everybody knew the Bulls’ there-and-back trip for no reason wouldn’t be the only inconvenience. The rescheduling would clutter up an already jam-packed, second-half schedule.

The NBA announced on Wednesday night that the game now will be played on April 8, which really is the only date that made sense for both teams’ busy slates.

But it creates a back-to-back scenario for the Bulls, who visit the Atlanta Hawks the next night. And it also stole the Bulls’ lone two-day-plus break on their schedule between late March and early May.

That’s not to say the Bulls have cornered the market on the inconvenience factor in this unprecedented season due to COVID-19 and its resulting health and safety protocols. The Raptors, who couldn’t field a team and even had coaches in the league’s health and safety protocols on that original Feb. 28 date, are playing their entire home season in Florida because Canada closed its borders to the United States during the pandemic.

Like all teams, the Bulls have tried to adopt a no-complaining, flexible mindset for the uncertain nature of this season. They, too, had their own battles with COVID-19 earlier this season, including positive tests for Garrett Temple, Chandler Hutchison and Tomáš Satoranský. And so they reacted to their trip-for-naught in late February with an oh-well shrug.

Now, the rescheduling is set.
